This year total 16 teams are invited in which 8 teams are already in Super 10 and remaining 8 teams will play matches to qualify for T20 ICC world cup tournament out of which only top 2 teams will reach in super 10.
Before all that I will tell you about the Super 10 stage of the tournament ,Top 8 teams of ICC T20 rankings need not to play qualify round, they are directly selected for the initial stage of World Cup which are divided in two Groups, each Group having 4 teams. Other than these 8 teams there are 8 more teams which play the qualifier round in which they also divided into two groups, the winner of both the Group will qualify for ICC T20 World Cup 2016 super 10 Stage making total 10 teams in the Stage .

- In Year 2009 England was the host for second T20 World Cup, in this tournament Pakistan won by 8 wickets.
- In Year 2010 host was West Indies where England won by 7 wickets.
- In Year 2012 West Indies won by 36 runs in Sri Lanka Sri Lanka.
