The four teams which are successful to proceed to next stage are West Indies and England from Group A and New Zealand and India from Group B. The pair of Mitchell Santner and Sodhi in bowling department has been able to restrict the opponents whereas Martin Guptill is the leading run scorer from the team. In the group matches, New Zealand has batted first in all the matches so it will be interesting to see whether they can successfully chase if in semis they will bat second.
England has shown continual improvement after they lost their first match against West Indies in super 10 stage of WC T20 2016, where Chris Gayle scored 100* runs by hitting 11 sixes due to which West Indies won the match. But soon England make their comeback in the tournament and won all the three matches against South Africa, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Though their qualification for next stage was in question till their last group stage match but their win against Sri Lanka confirm their ticket to semi final match.

England won the tiltle in 2010, not in the inaugural 2007 tournament. India won the title in 2007.
