After announcing men’s team, PCB has announced Pakistan Women Squad for the T20 World Cup 2016. The Women T20 world cup will start from 15 March to 3 April in India. The departure of the Pakistani players to India have been delayed due to security concerns and are still waiting for the approval from their government.
Sana Mir is declared as the captain for the team and will also look after the batting line up with Sidra Amin and Javeria Wadood. The bowling department will be on Sania and Sadia’s shoulder. The squad can struggle due to the lack of all-rounder which are much-needed for a match like t20 format. Pakistan is included in Group B with India, Bangladesh, England and West Indies.
The record of Pakistan Women squad in T20 world cup is not so good as the team was not able to win even a single match in first two edition of the tournament. They registered their first win in 2012 T20 world cup and their only win of the season is against India. In 2014 also Pakistan won only one match against Sri Lanka.
