Barbados Tridents will be in action today and it will be their first match of the CPL 2016. They have won the title in 2014 where they have defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by 8 runs and last year they were the runner-ups of the tournament. In the finale of 2015 Trinbago Knight Riders and Tridents battled where TKR have defeated them by 20 runs and from there this will be the first occasion when both the team face each other. Barbados team will look forward to win the match and settle their accounts with the Knight riders.
Team’s Strength & Weaknesses :-
If we look at the Tridents, Kieron Pollard is leading the team from the front and he is well-known player in T20 cricket. His ability to smash big sixes and also bowl some crucial overs made him one of the top all-rounder of T20 format. He has earned fame in Indian Premier League and continue his brilliance in Caribbean Premier League. Along with him a big name which is known world-wide is the legendary cricketer of this era from South African AB de Villiers is there in the squad who is the pillar of their batting line up. He has variety of shots and can hit ball in any direction of the ground. In every country he scored runs and in T20 tournament like CPL T20 he is wonderful with his bat. Pakistani cricket Shoaib Malik is also there who is holding the back bone of the batting order with Wayne Parnell and Raymon Reifer. Jason Holder the West Indies captain is also there in the squad who can bowl and also can hit big sixes in the slog overs. In the bowling unit Ravi Rampaul, David Wiese and Robin Peterson are there. So the teams looks balanced and it tough fight for the defending champions.
Dwayne Bravo who is also known as DJ Bravo will be the skipper of the Trinbago Knight Riders. They have lost theu first match against Zouks where they were unable to defend the total of 164 runs and Zouks won that match with 6 wickets. Now they have to move forward and look onto this one. No doubts team have quality players like former New Zealand batsman Brendon McCullum who is known for his quick fire innings, South African most consistent player Hasim Amla, Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal, West Indies opener Darren Bravo and many more talented batsman are there in their squad. If we look at the bowling line up Captain Bravo, Sulieman Benn, one of finest spinner of the world Sunil Narine, Ronsford Beaton are holding the bowling department which will push the tridents Batsman onto the backfoot. So they also have very good balance between the bowling and batting department. They have to void the mistakes they have done in the last. Batsman should spend some time on the wicket and then start taking some risk.
