Both the teams will be having different objectives in this tour. While the Proteas will be eyeing redemption after what was a dismal show at the World Cup, the Virat Kohli led Indian team will be eager to perform at their best in home conditions. The Indian team will also be soaring high on their recent dominating victory in the Caribbean where it was exciting to keep an eye on the live cricket score.

A much younger and inexperienced South African team will feel the heat under the Indian conditions especially in the absence of Faf du Plessis who has been excluded from the squad for the three-match T20I series. In Faf’s absence, Quinton de Kock will serve as his deputy. Faf will remain in charge of the Test side. Rassie van der Dussen will serve as de Kock’s deputy in the series while Bavuma has been named as vice-captain of the Test side. 

The T20Is are scheduled to be played in Dharamsala, Mohali and Bengaluru . The Tests will be played in Visakhapatnam, Pune and Ranchi. This Test series will mark the Proteas’ first in the ICC World Test Championship.

Both squads have some serious talents in them, however there is an evident difference in experience. While the Indian team boasts tons of experience in Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Shikhar Dhawan, the South African team has some serious young talent to offer in the likes of Theunis de Bruyn, Senuran Muthusamy, Rudi Second etc. No one can challenge the abilities of these wonderfully talented cricketers, but at the same time it’s not ignorable that the Indian team will have a clear upper-hand in terms of experience especially in Indian conditions. India is known to dominate in the sub-continent as the conditions are supportive towards Indian players. As far as T20s are concerned, it can be anybody’s game as the conditions matter but not that significantly in the shorter format of the game. The Test series will be the real test for the Proteas. In this series an inexperienced South African team made of youngsters will find them under the pressure against an Indian team that has both experience and supporting conditions. 

But it would be absolute foolery to rule out the possibility of the South African youngsters surprising the experienced Indian team. After all it’s a game of cricket and cricket is the most unpredictable game in the world.

Indian team are currently on Tour of Sri Lanka just after returning from West Indies. The Indian squad were on tour of WI for short limited over series held against Caribbean Team and won by margin of 3-1. Complete Fixtures is announced by the officials. The 1st Test Match will start from July 26, 2017 at Galle in the Galle International Stadium and will continue till September 6th. The Series is scheduled at 5 different venues namely Moratuwa, Galle, Colombo, Pallekele and Dambulla. Before playing in the 1st Test Series, the teams played warm-up match in Colombo which continues for two days.

The Series consists of 3 Test Series, 5 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 International. The Indian team will play under the Captaincy of Virat Kohli and the Rangana Herath is appointed as the new Test captain of the Sri Lankan squad. Kohli and his brigade are back with much of energy and lots of confidence. The Indian squad won in WI and preparing to give tough game while playing against Sri Lanka. They practiced for two days on 21st and 22nd July 2017 despite of Sun Shine.

If we look onto previous records, the third test series will be played at Pallekele and this will be the first time in the history that Indian squad will play their. Two years ago, India Tour to Sri Lanka and won the Test Series by 2-1 but unfortunately loss the first match held in Galle.

If we talk about the popularity, Caribbean Premier league listed just under Indian Premier League which is world’s most popular cricket event followed by Big Bash league of Australia. Last year Jamaica Tallawahs lifted the Trophy by defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors and becomes the first team who won the title twice in the history of the tournament.

About Caribbean Premier League :-

Every year tournament held at various islands of Caribbean. In 2013 the league took birth. Currently total 6 teams are participating in the tournament and they are :-

2. Guyana Amazon Warriors
3. Jamaica Tallawahs
4. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots
5. St Lucia Zouks
6. Trinbago Knight Riders

Tridents, Trinbago, and Tallawahs are the team who won the CPL title trophy so far. Jamaica is the only one who made this twice i.e. in 2013 and 2016. In CPL 2017, all the other teams will look forward to write their name on the beautiful Trophy.

Structure of CPL 2017 :-

Like previous years, this time also 6 team will participate. Each team will face each other twice in the league stage and each team will play 10 matches. Top 4 teams on the Points table of the league will play the next round which will be the play off. Then the top two teams from play-off will battle for the glory once again. Jamaica Tallawahs will be the defending champions of this season.

Pink Ball & Day-Night Test Matches :-

All the matches will be played with the Pink Ball and all will be day-night matches. This is first time in the Indian Cricket History when a test match will be played under the light and with pink ball too. It is an experiment and if successful BCCI will take it forward to the international level.

About the League :

It is a first class cricket league of Indian domestic cricket which is played every year and this will be the 55th season of the league. Generally 5 teams used to participate in the tournament but this year there will be 3 teams only. Total 4 matches to be played, each team will play once against each other and after three matches, the two teams having more points in the table will play the grand finale.

Format :-

The Duleep Trophy is a first class cricket league which follows test match format. This year the league matches will be of 4 days test matches and the final one will follow the international standards i.e. it will be 5 day test match. Pink ball will be used in place of the ordinary red ball and the matches will be played under the flood lights.

About the Teams :-
