On 30th March England defeated unbeaten team of Super 10 stage New Zealand by 7 wickets in the semifinal match and became the first finalist of WC T20 2016. In that match ENG won the toss and invited NZ to bat first and they put up 153 runs on the board at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Before the tournament started, India was the first favorite of all but the performance of Indian batsman in the inaugural match of the T20 WC 2016 has rightly proved that T20 is surely a game of uncertainties and no prediction can be made for this short format of the game. India lost its first match of the tournament against New Zealand with a huge margin of 47 runs. The defeat clearly showed the weakness in batting order of the strong batting line up of India. Though the team was able to make a comeback in the tournament by winning all the other three super 10 stage matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh and Australia but has backed these wins due to the brilliant performance of Virat Kohli. As far as batting is concerned for India, it is has been a one-man show, except Kohli none of the batsman has played according to their name in the tournament so far. As result of this the early wicket of Kohli concluded the match in India’s defeat against New Zealand and a last ball win over Bangladesh. If batting has been a disappointment for India throughout the super 10 stage, bowling is the area which has worked for the team with Ashish Nehra, Jaspreet Bumrah and R Ashwin all performing well in the matches.

Opposite to Indian performance, West Indies entering semifinal stage has been a surprise to everyone.
