MI along with new team Pune Supergiants  is from Maharashtra state. It has been formed in 2008 when Indian Premier League was formed. The team is owned by Reliance India Limited (Mukesh Ambani). Wankhede Stadium is declared as the primary home ground of the team.

Teams Performance in IPL 2016 :-

Mumbai Indians are the defending champions of the tournament and after a very bad start of the league, stand back in their style. MI has played 11 matches so far out of which they are successful in pulling out 6 wins due to which they are on the 4th position in the points table with 12 points.
