The former champion of Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians are all set again to roar in the ground and win the title in the IPL 2023 also. They are one of the most successful team of the Indian Premier League and has won the title twice in 2013 and 2014. Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are the other teams who have also been crowned twice. We are waiting for the auction for this year and the Mumbai Indians squad for IPL 2023 is ready with their players to win this season. MI team contains most of the retained players and few are the new players which have been bought in the auction.

MI along with new team Pune Supergiants is from Maharashtra state. It has been formed in 2008 when Indian Premier League was formed. The team is owned by Reliance India Limited (Mukesh Ambani). Wankhede Stadium is declared as the primary home ground of the team.

Inspite of including big names like Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jaisurya, Lasith Malinga to name few, to their side, MI early phase was full of struggle and the team could not even cross the league stages till the first two seasons. In 2010, the team showed a huge progress and ended as runner-up where they lost their final match to Chennai Super kings by 23 runs. Till 2012 the team has not tasted the success and proceeded upto play off rounds. The year 2013 was a comeback for the team and emerged as the strongest team under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. In IPL 2012 they hold the title first time and repeated the history in 2015 also.

Mumbai Indians Squad for IPL 2023 :-

The team will be captained by Rohit Sharma and Rick Ponting will hold the responsibility of the coach. they will be gained by the experience of the Sachin Tendulkar who has been recently joined the team as Mentor. The MI squad with all new players are listed below

The Match 43 of IPL 2016 will be MI vs KXIP which will be a great entertaining match for the cricket fans. It will be played at the newly decided venue Vizag for the home matches of Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants due to the drought conditions in Maharashtra. The match is going to be a very crucial match for both the teams. It will be more important for the Kings XI Punjab as they have to win all their 4 remaining matches so that they can have a chance to qualify into the play-offs. Mumbai Indians also not having much matches into the tournament. They have played 11 matches only 6 wins so far. So now the IPL 2016 becomes more tense and it is very difficult to predict which team is going to qualify into the Play-offs. Let’s look at MI vs KXIP match preview and what our prediction says about the winner of the match.

Teams Performance in IPL 2016 :-

Mumbai Indians are the defending champions of the tournament and after a very bad start of the league, stand back in their style. MI has played 11 matches so far out of which they are successful in pulling out 6 wins due to which they are on the 4th position in the points table with 12 points. Each team will play 14 league matches which means that they have only 3 matches left with them and they have to won all the remaining matches to make sure their seat reserved for the next round of the IPL 2016.

MI team have a good balance of batsman as well as bowlers in their squad with some all rounders too. When they have batted, they scored 180+ runs in the tournament and also they have scored lowest total of IPL 9 where they got all out on a score of 92 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. So this is what their batting department is doing. If some early wickets falls then the middle order batsman not able to sustain the pressure and also through their wicket while trying to pull off the pressure from them. One of the most weak link of MI team is the Opening pair, In the tournament they have not put 50+ runs without a wicket down. Early wicket falls always creates pressure on the upcoming batsman. Big Pinch hitters are there in the middle order like Jos Buttler, Keiron Pollard which can hit big sixes and boost up the score. Ambati Rayudu is also scoring runs for his team but not able to convert them into big innings. All rounder like Hardik and Krunal Pandya can add some strength to the bowling as well as in batting too. But the thing is the contribution of each batsman in the game. Team is much dependent on Rohit Sharma who is the leading run scorer from his team and we have seen if Rohit got out early, whole team struggled in that particular match. So all the batsman have to contribute their performance into the match so that a good score can be built for the opponent.

In the Bowling unit, Mitchell McClenaghan the current purple cap holder of IPL 2016 is there for the team and always provide early breakthrough to the team. He has taken 15 wickets so far in 11 matches. Jasprit Bumrah also very effective throughout the IPl 2016. Harbhajan Singh is back with a bang and is very economical with the ball. So the bowling side of Mumbai Indians is performing good. They have to work on the batting and if they want to win the MI vs KXIP match.

If we look onto the Kings XI Punjab, they have nothing to lose from here now. They have played 10 matches and only 3 times won the match. They are on the last place into the points table with 6 points like previous season. Still they have 4 matches left and if they won all their remaining matches then they have a little chance to qualify into the play-offs. Last couple of games they have lost with a very narrow difference which surely boosted up the confidence of their players and in the upcoming match it will help the team.

Only Murali Vijay is scoring runs for the KXIP. They have big names in their squad like Glenn Maxwell, David Miller but both the batsman haven’t scored enough runs for the team, specially Millier who is popular for his big sixes is struggling for his first fifty and in the last couple of game he got good chances to take his team to the winning side but he failed again and again. If we look onto the other teams and then compare KXIP batting ,they have worst season this year. Except Murali Vijay no one have proved himself as a good batsman in the IPL 2016 season. Maxwell scored only 2 fifties so far in 9 innings. The performance of the batting unit was the main issue of previous season and in this season too team is struggling due to their batsman. If Punjab want to win the match against Mumbai then they have to bat like they have batted in 2014 and match will be in their bag for sure.

Kings XI Punjab have good bowling unit. Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Marcus Stoinis doing good with the ball. In the spin attack Axar patel is awesome. He is the first bowler of IPL 2016 who has taken First Hat-trick of the season. So the bowling department is good as always. The area where improvement is needed is the batting.

Toss: A Plus Point

Yup it will be an advantage to the team who will bat second and it will be only possible when you will won the toss. So the team which will won the toss in the match will go for the bowl first and will take the advantage of winning toss.

Head to Head Comparison :-

If we look at the previous season of Indian Premier League, both the team have faced each other 16 times and yes both the team have won 8-8 times each which means both the team are on the same platform. But this year they have played one match earlier in which MI won the match by 25 runs. So now score is 9-8. Lets see if KXIP able to level the score one more time.

MI vs KXIP Match Prediction : Mumbai or Punjab

If we look at the previous matches, we have seen very poor performance from the Punjab but from last few games they have improved themselves and Yes it will be good fight for the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming match. It is very difficult to predict a result of T20 cricket match, specially of IPL matches but if we have to predict we will go with the Mumbai Indians due to their current form and they looks more balanced than Kings XI Punjab. But any thing can happen in cricket and it would not be much surprising if Kings XI Punjab beat Mumbai Indians in the upcoming match MI vs KXIP.

Key Players of the Match :-

For Mumbai Indians :-

Rohit Sharma

Jos Buttler

Keiron Pollard

For Kings XI Punjab :-

The Next Big match will be RCB vs MI which will be played on 11th May 2016 at the home ground of Bangalore team. No one can predict the top four team of the league going into the play-offs as all the teams are fighting and playing very good cricket. In the points table positions of teams are shuffling after each and every match. Currently Gujarat Lions is on the no. 1 position. The upcoming Match RCB vs MI will very crucial for both the teams. It will decide the future of the team in the tournaments. Lets have a look onto the performance of each team and prediction of the match.

Bangalore vs Mumbai Match Preview :-

If we look onto the RCB performance in the tournament, they have played 9 matches so far out of which only on 4 occasions they taste the happiness of win. They have one of the most stronger batting line up among the other 7 teams. Captain Virat Kohli is in great form, scored 561 runs in just 9 innings with an average of 80.14 and the current Orange cap holder of IPL 2016, AB de Villiers one of the best cricketer of today’s era scoring runs for his team in slog overs to boost up the score, Shane Watson who is doing well with the bat as well as with the ball and who can forget Chris Gayle. So the Royal Challengers Bangalore is fully loaded with the batsman who can turn the game at any moment. But the thing in which they are lagging throughout the tournament and faced 5 defeats so far is the bowling. Except Watson no one is taking wickets and binding the batsman not to hit big shots. They have scored big total in the game 5 times (170+ ) but defend only one time which shows how weak is the bowling department is. From last few games a bowler is also pop up in the eyes of all viewers he is Yuzvendra Chahal. He gave important break through on very crucial time. In the last match too he took 2 wickets at very crucial time and made his team to come back in the game and in the end won the match by 1 run. So all is good the area on which RCB have to work is the bowling. If Bangalore win this match then they will be on the 4th or 5th place in the points table with 10 points for sure.

So many ups and downs for the defending Champions so far in the IPL 2016. Mumbai Indians have played 10 matches and out of which they have won 5 matches and with 10 points they are on the 5th spot in the points table. After loosing four matches in the starting of the tournament Mumbai team stand back in his style. In the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad whole team got all out on just 92 runs while chasing target of 178 run. A big lose of 85 runs in that match for the Indians. This is the main problem with the team. The batting side is very inconsistent. You can’t rely on single batsman every time and this has to be understood by every player. Rohit Sharma is the leading run scorer of the team but if he departs early the full batting bench struggle every time. They have also big names under their shed like Jos Buttler, Kieron Pollard, Martin Guptill, Mitchell McClenaghan. The bowling department is strong of Mumbai Indians. Mitchell McClenaghan is the current Purple Cap holder of the tournament. Harbhajan Singh is also doing good with the ball along with Bumrah. The thing on which MI coaching staff and mentors have to work is the batting. They have to build some strategies and plans and execute them on the field. Lets see what will happen in the RCB vs MI Match.

Previous Battle :-

In IPL 2016 they have face each other at Wankhede where Mumbai Indians won the match by 6 wickets and Rohit Sharma was selected as man of the match. Here is the scorecard :-

RCB: 170/7 in 20 overs

MI: 171/4 in 18 overs

Toss : Very Crucial

In T20 cricket and specially in night matches toss is very crucial. The team which will win the toss always try to seek bowl first. In IPL 2016, too the team won the toss choose to field first and 80% of the time won the match. So in the upcoming match of RCB vs MI we will see the team winning the toss will bat first.

Here is the Key players of the upcoming Bangalore vs Mumbai Match :-

Mumbai Indians Key Players :-

Jos Buttler

Kieron Pollard

Rohit Sharma

Mitchell McClenaghan

Jasprit Bumrah

Royal Challengers Bangalore Key Players :-

Virat Kohli

AB de Villiers

Shane Watson

Chris Gayle

KL Rahul

Match Prediction: Who will win RCB or MI :-

It would be very tough to predict the winner of the RCB vs MI match. Both the team are on the same level, have all the match winning players. If we have to predict the winner of the upcoming match we will go with the RCB. What you think who will win the match.

The Match 24 of IPL 9 was MI vs KKR where the Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollard made fastest fifty of IPL 2016, completed his first half century of the tournament on just 17 balls with 6 massive sixes and 2 fours in the innings. Mumbai Indians won the match by 6 wickets with 2 overs remaining. Rohit Sharma was selected as man of the match for his unbeaten 68 runs on 49 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. But the feeling of T20 cricket is given by the Pollard. He is sharing same spot with Chris Morris in the list of Top 10 fastest Fifties of IPL 2016. Morris completed his 50 in just 17 balls and scored 82* runs in 32 balls with 8 sixes and 4 fours against Gujarat Lions but unfortunately Delhi Daredevils lost the match by 1 Run.

Earlier in the Match against KKR, Mumbai won the toss and as expected choose to bowl first. The Opening pair of KKR again gave their team a solid start. In the 8th over first wicket was fallen of Kolkata at the score of 69 runs in the form of Robin Uthappa. He scored 32 runs on just 20 deliveries. Then Shakib got out in the next over and on 121 runs captain Gautam Gambhir departs in 14th over. He scored 59 runs on 45 balls. Yusuf Pathan played the his role, boosted the score with 4 boundaries. In 20 overs KKR putted 174 runs on the board on the loss of 5 wickets.

Again it was a bad start for Mumbai Indians as Parthiv Patel departs in the 2nd over, scored only 1 run. But Rayudu and Rohit built up a good partnership and add quick runs to the score in the power-play. Then Rayudu got out when he is trying to go for the a big one but couldn’t clear the fielder at log-on. Couple of Wickets fall down after that but captain Rohit Sharma continues with his classic shots all over the ground and completed his half-century. When Kieron Pollard came on to the crease then all the remaining work was done by him. He smashed 3 sixes in an over of Rajagopal Sathish from where the game has changed and from there no one can able to stop him. He finishes the match with a six on the last delivery of 18th over and also completed his fifty which is fastest of IPL 2016. He scored 51 runs on just 17 balls.

The most popular Indian Premier League 9 has already started from 9th April 2016 and after all the amazing and super-excited 45 matches played till now in this season its the time to get ready for the action in the match 46th which will be played between Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils on 15th May 2016 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. In this post check for the live score MI vs DD IPL 2016.

Mumbai Indians have been crowned twice with the winner title of 2013 and 2015. The journey for MI in Indian Premier League did not started well and the team faced failure in the first two seasons. But they did not lost their hopes and from the third season in 2010, they emerged as one of the strongest teams. Rohit Sharma has been the most successful captain for MI and will also be leading the in IPL 2016. To boost the morale of the team, Sachin Tendulkar will play the role of mentor.

Delhi Daredevils are still looking for their first title as the team has never won the league. DD is one of the team playing in IPL who has always faced criticism for its poor performance. Leaving the first two initial seasons and 2012 tournament when Delhi team was able to reach the semifinals, they have always ended in league matches positioned at the bottom three places. For IPL 9, Delhi will be led by new captain, Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid, as a mentor will help the squad.

The defending champion Mumbai Indians will face Kings XI Punjab in the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League 9 which has already started from 9th April 2016 and will finish on 29th May 2016. Check live score of MI vs KXIP IPL 2016 in this post.

Mumbai Indians is one of the teams who initially faced a lot of criticism for its poor performance in the first two seasons. But the team emerged as one of the strongest team in 2010 when the team ended as runner-up by losing the final match against CSK. The team won their first title in 2013 and second title in 2015. Rohit Sharma will be leading the team this year also. He is the most successful captain for MI under whom the team won the championship twice. Sachin Tendulkar has been announced as mentor for MI team.

Kings XI Punjab has always look strong on papers but their performance tells some other story. KXIP has never won the title and was runner-up for 2014 season. In IPL 2016, David Miller is announced as the captain for the Punjab Side where Virender Sehwag will mentor the team.

Head-to-Head Comparison

Head-to-head encounter result between Mumbai vs Punjab is given in the table.

The 41st match of Indian Premier League 2016 will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians on 11th May 2016 at Bangalore. Both the teams are playing in IPL since its inaugural season in 2008. Mumbai Indians is two-time champions of 2013 and 2015 whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore are two-time runner-up of 2008 and 2010. Get updated with the live score of the match RCB vs MI IPL 2016.

RCB performed well in the initial seasons and were the semifinalist and runner-up for two times each. But their performance eventually dropped down and the team could never qualified further the league stage after 2011. But with new season new hopes are there and the team will be ready to make a comeback under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. The team also consists of the most costliest player Shane Watson of IPL 9.

The defending champions journey in Indian Premier League did not started well and the team ended at bottom three positions for first two seasons. But MI showed improvement in third season and reached the final stage but was defeated by Chennai Super Kings by 22 runs and ended as runner-up only. Since then the team has maintained its level and won their first title in 2013 and again in 2015 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. In this season also, MI will play under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai franchise has declared Sachin Tendulkar as mentor for the team.
