The 2nd semifinal of Women’s T20 world cup 2016 will be played on 31 March 2016 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai between New Zealand Women vs West Indies Women. None of the team have ever won the WC T20 so both the team will be looking to grab the opportunity and make possible it this time.Though New Zealand was able to reach finals of 2009 and 2010 T20 world cups.

Like men’s team New Zealand women’s team has qualified for semifinals by leading the group A in point table. The team has remained unbeaten in the WC T20 2016 so far. They have won convincingly all the group stage match. Suzie Bates along with England team captain Charlotte Edwards is the highest run scorer in the tournament. She has scored 171 runs and her best in the tournament was against Ireland where she scored 82 runs off 60 balls. In bowling department too, the highest wicket taker is from New Zealand team, Leigh Kasperek is leading the chart by taking 9 wickets with an average of 6.77 and economy 3.93.

It is fourth time when West Indies women team have qualified for semi final of t20 world cup. Since 2010 they have continuously reached to this stage but could not make their journey to move forward and have ended the tournament at 4th position. The team will surely be eager to break this flow this time and enter the final. They are at second position in their group B and has won three matches against India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The only match they have lost was against England who has qualified for semifinals and will play against Australia.

The defending and four-time world champions Australia is the favorites between the two for the battle and have an easy chance to secure their position for the semifinals. They has played 3 group matches in the tournament so far and has won two of them against South Africa by 6 wickets and Sri Lanka by 9 wickets.
Ireland are considered minnows in the Group are still waiting for their first win as they have lost all three match. The world cup is already over for the team so they will be playing for their pride. Except for their first match against New Zealand women where they lost by a huge margin of 93 runs, the team came back into the tournament and despite of losing the second match against Sri Lanka by 14 runs and they showed some good cricket and proved that they have potential.

The 3rd Match of Women’s World T20 2016 will be played between West Indies vs Pakistan of Group B on 16th March 2016 on M.A.Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The match will start at 7:30 pm sharp. In the Women’s T20 World Cup each team will play 4 matches in the Super 10 Stage. Two groups are formed in this round Group A and Group B. Each group having 5 teams. So the team able to survive on the top to position in the Women’s points table from each group will go to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Both the team playing their first match of women’s World T20 and will try to start the tournament with a win.If we look on to the previous performance of the each team, West-Indies women team won 3 matches out of 5 recent T20 international matches and is on the 5th position in the ICC Women Team rankings where Pakistan women team won 2 T20I matches out of 5 and is on the 7th position in the team rankings. So it looks like Caribbean team can win this match but Pak team can prove this wrong and surprise all of us by winning their first match of the tournament.
