The schedule for Indian Premier League 9 was announced by BCCI, according to which the first match of this season will be played on 9 April 2016 and final match will held on 29 May 2016. In the 22nd match of the IPL 9 Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rising Pune Supergiants will be facing each other on 26th April at Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad was included in IPL 2013 after the Deccan Charger team was defunct by the board. SRH performed well in their first season and qualified for the play-offs stage which was their best performance in any season. For this season, David Warner will lead the team as captain. The third costliest player of IPL 2016, Yuvraj Singh (Rs 7 crores) has been brought by SRH.

Rising Pune Supergiants is a new team in Indian Premier League which will serve as replacement for two years against the suspended teams Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royal.
