Duleep Trophy 2016 Teams & their Squad: India Red, Blue & Green players List

The 55th edition of the Duleep trophy is coming up in august and the schedule of the league has been announced by the BCCI recently. The first match will start from 23rd August 2016. It is one of the popular test league of the Indian domestic cricket which is held every year. This year BCCI has made some changes in the format. If we look at the Duleep Trophy 2016 Teams, there will be only 3 teams in place of 5 and they are :-

India Red
India Blue
India Green

These 3 teams will compete each other. The squads of each team has been announced by the BCCI. Yuvraj Singh will be the captain of the India Red team, Gautam Gambhir will be of India Blue where Suresh Raina will be leading India Green. BCCI has published list of 15 players for each team which will be the part of the league.

This year all the matches will be played under the lights which means it will follow the day-night format. One more change is there, all the matches will be played with the Pink ball. There will be no red ball in the league this season.

Duleep Trophy 2016 Schedule Announced: Day-Night format & Pink ball introduced

One of the major domestic cricket league of India Duleep Trophy 2016 is going to start in August. This year there will be 3 teams participating in the league in place of 5 as decided by BCCI which are named as India Red, India Blue, India Green. The first match will be played between Red & Green teams on 23rd August – 26th August. BCCI just announced the Duleep Trophy 2016 Schedule and we are ready with the fixtures for our viewers. Pink Ball & Day-Night Test Matches :-

All the matches will be played with the Pink Ball and all will be day-night matches. This is first time in the Indian Cricket History when a test match will be played under the light and with pink ball too. It is an experiment and if successful BCCI will take it forward to the international level.

About the League :

It is a first class cricket league of Indian domestic cricket which is played every year and this will be the 55th season of the league. Generally 5 teams used to participate in the tournament but this year there will be 3 teams only. Total 4 matches to be played, each team will play once against each other and after three matches, the two teams having more points in the table will play the grand finale.

Format :-

The Duleep Trophy is a first class cricket league which follows test match format. This year the league matches will be of 4 days test matches and the final one will follow the international standards i.e. it will be 5 day test match. Pink ball will be used in place of the ordinary red ball and the matches will be played under the flood lights.

About the Teams :-

Yuvraj Singh will be leading the “India Red”, Suresh Raina is appointed as the captain of “India Green” and Gautam Gambhir will be heading up “India Blue”. Check complete squads of each team here.
