Finally the day the has arrived for which all the cricket fans are waiting for. From 04th August 2017 the Caribbean Premier league is starting and today the CPL 2017 Points table will get its first update. The first match will be played between Trinbago Knight Riders and St. Lucia Zouks at Port of Spain, Trinidad. This year too 6 teams will be participating in the tournament and out of only 4 will get tickets to the next round. The team will be shortlisted with the help of the points table.
In the league stage each team will play 10 T20 matches. For every win 2 points will be rewarded to the winning team and zero points to the losing team. For a tie match, 1 point to the both the team. Net run rate is always a crucial part in such tournaments as it will decide the team standing if the points of two or more teams are equal. So the captain of each franchises will have an eye on this too while playing the matches. Bigger the difference in the win, higher will be the NRR.
In the CPL T20 2017, Total 34 matches are to be played out of which 30 will be of the league stage in which each team will play 10 games. At the end of the league stage the Caribbean Premier league 2017 points table will decide the four teams going to the next round of the tournament i.e. Play-offs just like Indian Premier League. The team having highest points will be placed on the top and if some of the teams having equal points then the one having better NRR will be place above than the other ones.

n the whole the cricket was good: exciting, no. Only the second Guyana/Tridents match had some sauce. It seems that most of the teams were just too laid back. The atmosphere, however, at the Stadium was refreshing. People seemed to have had a great time. But, the numerous complaints I overheard was that the teams were not trying their very best. I personally, at times, took a nap. I hope in the future CPL games will be brought to the USA, and play would be more invigorating.
The four teams that qualified; any is good enough to win the tournament. They all have played a mixed bag of cricket. Sometimes they were hot, sometimes they were cold. But the winners will be the one that endure to the end. The team that can put it all together at the end will be the ultimate winners. Good luck to all teams.

This is typical Trinidad Knight Riders. Known for slow start, but once winding up as they are now, they will be hard to beat in all of their remaining matches.
